Car Sold To Me With Previous Lien
Location: Kansas City. MO.
My dealership sold me my car with a previous lien still on the car… Somehow I got my tags and car registered the first time around and got two year tags. So when I go back to the DMV to renew they all of sudden can’t find my car, because it went to rejects for having two lien holders!
I’ve been driving my car with expired tags and a reject title for months which is super risky if I happen to get pulled over!
The dealership has been acting stupid and I had to explain to them why my car was in rejects and the instructions of how to get the lien release…
And also more context, dealership is in kansas side suburbs and i’m on the Missouri side.
Told the dude that he needs to get me another temp tag or a car to drive in the meantime and he said there’s “nothing else” he can do. So i did threaten to take legal action because they should not have sold me my car like that?????
Any advice of how to go about this? I think I can take it to small claims but I still have no solution to my tags and it’ll be weeks and weeks til they process the lien release at the state dor.
