Construction Blocking Residential Driveways Los Angeles

Location: Los Angeles.

Construction has been happening in our neighborhood in East Hollywood. They are building a “low income” 7 story building across from ours. Our neighborhood received notice on street parking being unavailable for an entire month during certain hours.

When construction started last week or so the entire construction crew is blocking multiple buildings driveways including mine. We are unable to leave our home or park inside due to being stuck from construction. They do not give us time periods to leave at all from 6am-6pm.

This feels very illegal due to there is no emergency access road and is blocking more than 4 apartment buildings from leaving their premise.

I have emailed the project manager multiple times and talked to the onsite manager and they are throwing us around in loops.

Also debris is left all over the neighborhood as well from the construction.

The lack of transparency and communication and overall blocking us from leaving and entering seems illegal since it is not street work.

Any advice would be greatly appreciated since I feel like I’m going crazy.
