Dad With Mental Illness Made A Civil Harassment Restraining Order, Help?

My dad has a mental illness, and we're still figuring out what it is. He has hallucinations and false beliefs of people trying to kill him (no one is). Is it possible to get his restraining order dismissed? Should I look for a lawyer just to cover my bases? He has a hearing for the restraining order in a couple weeks and I don't want him to say anything wild and get himself arrested. He's never made threats or tried to hurt anyone physically. He can be irritable so I'm worried he'll say something the judge will take seriously and get himself in legal trouble.

I know the person he's trying to get the restraining order against, and they told me they were told that the judge denied the request for the restraining order. However, my dad is adamant that he wants to go to the hearing.

Dad is genuinely a good and kind person at heart, so the mental illness was devastating as it developed later. I don't know if I can afford a lawyer. I'm looking into legal aid but I'm not very hopeful.

Anyone know what kind of law this would even fall under? Thank you!!
