Daycare Quoted Us The “wrong Price” And Now Wants To Double Our Tuition Despite A Contract
Location: Ohio
We signed our daughter up for a new daycare seeing we just moved. Our quote for afternoon care was $120 a week. It seemed too good to be true so we asked another person at the daycare if it was $120 a week and they said yes it is. We enrolled our daughter and signed a contract listing the $120
A couple weeks ago we noticed our account was charged $250. We contacted the daycare and they said we were quoted the wrong price on accident and that they would sort it out. Today we were told “the only thing we can do is give you a 10% discount because you’re a teacher”. We budgeted for $120 a week. We signed a contract for $120 a week. And now they’re trying to say that doesn’t matter and now our expenses have doubled. The verbiage in the contract simply states “rates are subject to change with reasonable notice as conditions require”. And that’s literally all it says about rate increases
Naturally to us we are furious that we are now being asked to pay DOUBLE due to their mistake. It’s not our fault their employees messed up. On top of that our daughter has been going through so much change and is struggling. Pulling her out of this daycare for another would be so hard for everyone. Do we have legal grounds here to keep the tuition at $120 a week?
