Employer Is Stealing Major Tips

Location: Bay Area, California

I am making this post for guidance on what I should do next.

I work part-time in a bakery/cafe as a barista/server. Our bakery is in a wealthy area, so there are lots of big tippers. We have a cash tip jar, but most people, of course, tip on the POS. I have only worked there for a little over a month, and I was told that I would not be getting any transaction tips for the first pay period by my coworkers (who also found out through the grapevine), NOT management. I was annoyed but brushed it off but started keeping track of all the tips we make on the POS (this does not include DoorDash or online order tips). The page that actually shows the total tips is locked, so I have been keeping track of tips for every transaction. We have made over $1,500 in tips this week alone. I received my tips for the pay period, and it was a whopping $50. The tips were sent separately from my paycheck through Zelle. My coworker that works 6 days a week received $97, and others $40-$80. Never higher than $100. For context, there are only 8-9 shifts a day, and I was told by my manager that some back-of-house doesn't receive tips, period.

My coworkers seem to have put their hands up because they like their job, and language barriers make it difficult to get everyone on the same page. They want stability even if it means they are taken advantage of. What should I do next? I honestly really enjoy my job too, but I would have taken another job if I knew of this tip situation. How do I prove that they are stealing tips?

Also, they do not provide pay stubs unless you ask, which I know is a labor code violation, and automatically clock us out 10 minutes after our shifts, so we rush to finish. They only put this clock thing in place like a week ago.

I appreciate any advice, thank you!
