Escrow Disaster

Location: Florida I (semi)recently sold a home. Home was financed with mortgage that had joint borrowers. Ex spouse was the first name on the mortgage because of the financial situation at the time. Divorce specified that I was responsible for paying the mortgage, taxes, upkeep, and that ex spouse forfeited all claim to the property and proceeds, she signed a quit claim deed but could not be removed from the mortgage until the sale of the property. After the sale, there was an overpayment to escrow and title company did not have the most updated payoff amount. I brought this up to said title company at closing and they said not to worry the bank would handle sending me a refund. Ex spouse was not required to be present at closing because of the quit claim deed. The bank has been absolutely terrible, they were supposed to send the check out but due to the ex spouse being the first name listed, I presume the check was undelivered because she had not lived there in quite some time and the postal service did not have her at my address.

Well, check was requested again to the same address with my forwarding address on file with USPS, again undeliverable, Ex spouse then updates her address on file and requests the check, also not delivered. this was the situation for 4 different checks, each time they say to wait for several weeks and then the check can be requested again. It has now been 8 months since the sale of the property and the bank I feel like is just messing with us. I have tried contacting a family law attorney but he kind of told me this was not family law and told me to contact someone else. I just want my money back that is owed to me by the bank and I feel like the bank is just using my money as a free loan all this time. What should be my next move? I have a call in to a civil attorney but he has not yet reviewed it, consumer protection attorney told me it is not his deal either. I just need help because the big bank has absolutely no penalty for ignoring my requests. I would love to request my money back with 8 months interest at this point and something for my time and effort put into making myself whole at this point. Please help
