Got Pushed From Behind, Hit The Back Of My Head, And Now I Can’t Study For My Mcat (28 Days)
To give more context, I was purposefully and forcefully shoved while going for a layup by a teenager while playing pickup basketball. I hit the back of my head and had to be transported from an urgent care to the ER for a CT scan and had multiple Neuro tests done.
I get that basketball can get aggressive and trash talking is normal, but what happened wasn’t a “basketball move”. I was personally targeted by him leading up to the incident and it escalated after he hard fouled me during a shot, leaving a bright red mark both on the right side of my neck and my left forearm, with him denying that "there was no contact" and "it wasn't a foul". Next thing I know, he vented his frustration and aggressively pushed me from behind while I was going for a layup; people around us say it was a purposeful shove. After I got hurt, he kept talking smack and continued to shove me.
Normally I wouldn’t think anything of this situation but in my situation this matters a lot. This is my third concussion and I’m now stuck with a 6k+ medical bill, severe nausea, headaches, and blurry vision. This severely impairs my MCAT studying and will affect both whether I get into medical school and my future as a whole.
28 days out from my exam (I’ve been studying 8 months and put 400 hours), I’m stuck and I can’t even open my laptop because I’m so nauseous. All the test dates are full (so I can’t reschedule for a later date) and the last exam for this year is September 12th. This means that I’ll have to wait until January for a reschedule (220 dollars).
I don’t know what to do here and I need some advice.
