Huge Plastic Surgery Office Withholding Last Pay Check After Firing Me. Location: Az

I got hired at a multi surgeon plastic surgery office in an upscale city in Arizona. I was there for about three weeks.

I started in the middle of the pay period and I got paid for my first check however I’m owed for the my last check, which equals two weeks of work.

I didn’t quit. They just came in to my office Thursday last week at the end of the day and told me i wasn’t a good fit and that my employment was terminated and to grab my stuff and leave. So I did, but I noticed when I tried to clock out, my time card access had been revoked.

According to Arizona laws, if I’m terminated, my paycheck is due either seven working days or the next pay period whichever comes first. Well, today was payday and no direct deposit had hit my account and I’m at officially 7 working days post termination.

I texted my manager and she didn’t answer. I sent a follow up email a couple hours later and even CC’d the CEO who does the pay payroll and they both didn’t answer.

And I finally called and reached the receptionist and told her that I needed to speak to my former manager in regard to my payroll. She put me on hold and then came back and said that she spoke with my manager and she’s going into a meeting and she’ll talk to me later or end of day.

Today is the last day that I am legally supposed to get paid. I have rent coming up and I have no means to pay it. What should I do?
Do I apply for the unpaid wages now or do I wait? I don’t understand why they would withhold my last check when they fired me.
