I Am Worried That I Illegally Own Firearms And Cant Do Anything About It
Location: California. So a bit of context, I was born in raised in California. At 18 I moved to Idaho, was a resident for 6 months and bought a pistol through a private sale. (To my knowledge and research this was completely legal in Idaho, I even spoke to a Boise county sheriff about it before hand.) Since these guns were bought in a private sale and Idaho law (that I googled) says a Bill of Sale is not required but encouraged. Foolishly these guns were never put in my name. I ended up moving back to California, still under the age to own a pistol, 21, where private sales are not allowed. My mom sent me a “New Resident Report of Firearm Ownership” form for California. She told me that if I didn’t fill it out in 60 days that I could get in trouble. Once again foolishly I did not do this, nor did I even read it. Now that I have (first page attached below) I see nothing about a 60 day period. That’s about all, hoping someone has some advice.
