I'm Being Harassed Late At Night By A Strange Man, Is There Anything I Can Do?

Location: California

I live in a major city. My house is on the corner of a major street, with the back yard being along that street. Our back fence has been hit by cars several times, so there are uneven spots, cracks, and gaps in the boards.

I'm a young female, and a habitual night owl. I like to set up my computer by the sliding glass door, and play at night. Over the past month or so I've been harassed by what I'm assuming is the same stranger, who seems to be peeking over the back fence and into the house, because unfortunately all of our back windows and the large glass door make that side a fishbowl.

On the first occasion, a man yelled "fat f*cking pig" at me over the fence while I was folding laundry in the early morning, which I heard because the glass door was open. When I looked, I could see him slinking along the fence low through the cracks as he left, but I didn't see his face. On another occasion I was shouted at over the fence, but I didn't hear what was said because I had my headset on.

About a week ago, someone knocked firmly on our front door at 2 in the morning. I had my headset on again, and heard it, but couldn't place it. I thought it was something upstairs, and when I checked and found no issues, I figured it had been the video I was watching. Only to have my grandfather ask me the next day whether or not I'd ordered food, because a man had knocked on our door at 2 and been caught on our Ring camera as he ran back towards the road.

About two hours ago now, what I assume is the same man beat on our front door. He hit it so hard that I saw light through the crack and the blinds shook. He hit it so hard that my dad woke up and came downstairs. It was extremely hard, like he'd been throwing his shoulder against it or something. I'm hoping that when he gets up in the morning, my grandpa will be able to show me the footage from our camera.

I want to know if there's anything the police will be able to do about this if we provide them with the video. I'm the only one awake at that hour, and I'm very sure the harassment is targeted towards me and all from the same individual. The amount of force that he hit that door with seriously frightens me. There's only so much a wooden door can do against crazy. I'm a woman alone at night, and I'm not even safe inside of my own home. I'm sure they won't be able to arrest him for any of this, but could they at least help me get a restraining order, or ban him from entering a certain radius around our home, or something? Not just for me, but for the elders and children also living in this house. They and I both need our peace of mind back.
