I'm Curious About Sidewalk Access Laws In Texas. Where Am I Legally Allowed To Walk My Dog?

Howdy all,

Location: Unincorporated Harris County, TX

First some background. I live in unincorporated Harris County in an HOA managed subdivision but my section is ungated which I believe means that the roads and pathways are public accessways and county / state law applies, not HOA rules (correct me if I'm wrong).

The properties here have front yards with connected sidewalks at the end, followed by a small patch for grass, kind of like THIS:max_bytes(150000):strip_icc()/JF8X5SD4-ef4c2126357041fda30000913c83b222.jpeg).

I have a grumpy neighbor who watches her cameras and comes out to shout at you about trespassing if you walk across the sidewalk on her property with your dog. To be clear I just avoid the house, this isn't a "can I walk across her house anway" question, I just leave her to her misery and use a different route. This is more of general question I'm curious about the answer to.

I assume in this case I have the implied legal right to use that sidewalk to walk my dog correct?

Assuming so, do I have any reasonable right to access the attached unfenced yard? I have the dog on regular 3-4 foot leash and she is well behaved, but dogs being dogs she likes to sniff the grass to the sides of the pathway. Am I trespassing if I don't keep her strictly on the concrete or is there a reasonable assumption that a short distance either side is fair use (assuming nothing is left behind, i.e. poop is picked up)?
