Interior Designer Being Sued By A Client For Construction Delays And Mortgage Payment 120k

Back in 2024 a client asked for plans and interior design services for his home. I performed the work and sent it for approval client approved and didnt pay final payment I kept asking for the money he requested 3D rendering so he can pay I did for free which wasn’t in my scope of work then he requested to assist his contractor with permits claiming the plans are wrong and thats why he cant get the permit. I got involved in permitting to find out it was structural engineer and civil engineer comments which client connected me with and told me to explain to them what needs to be done so he can get the permit. I even paid permit fees almost $500 and he told me he will pay me back. Anyway after holding my money for 6 months manipulating me into doing extra work for free I had to stop and request the money and had to get someone involved so he can pay me. He finally paid me and after couple months his contractor requested me to visit the site again claiming that the plans are bad and wrong. I went for no extra charge to find the contractor asking if the window is centered with the door or not!
After several weeks he texted me saying that my plans recommended concrete to be poured in the sunroom however now there is an issue with the floor joist and the basement ceiling wood is bended. I reviewed my plans and there is nothing in my plans mention concrete I reviewed the structural engineer plans it was clearly showing concrete to be poured in the extension area only and says sunroom to remain the same. I then looked the contractor up to find that he isn’t licensed. I told him to not contact me and any issues on site has nothing to do with me or my plans. After couple months client reached out claiming the front door is shorter than the standard I said I didn’t order the door please contact your contractor. He then stated that I approved the door and I have to take responsibility in replacing the door. I only approved the door design which was aluminum after threatening me i agreed to replace the door and made him sign that he will not contact me again and to stop the accusation and harassment. I ordered the door and the manufacturer said it will be delivered in 60 days. Then it got delayed and the harassment started again client claiming that i owe him because the door got delayed he asked for a refund of the design fee or to furnish his home for free. I refused and blocked him
When the door didn’t arrive i disputed the payment was scared that i got scammed. The door finally got delivered after 120 days and when I went to the site I found out that the old door they purchased is wood door however I approved aluminum door. I told the client your contractor got the wrong door from the beginning and I am not responsible for the door if you want the door please contact the manufacturer and pay for the door.

He is now suing me for 120k claiming construction delays because the door i ordered got delayed mortgage payment for the 5 months delays and full refund of the design fee. Can I sue him back for the free work I was forced to do so I can get my payment?
Can I sue him for defamation as he has been going around referring to me as his girlfriend ?
Can I sue him for emotional distress as I got hospitalized after his text threatening to sue me back in November 2025 and I had panic attack and got hospitalized?
Is my position strong since I have prove that the contractor isn’t licensed and he failed inspections several times for things that has nothing to do with the door. He could have kept the old door and got inspections done and replaced the door after it gets delivered!
