Landlord Is Selling The Trailer Park We Live In And Lease Has Expired, But Old Landlord Is Demanding We Pay Rent

Location: Alabama So we have lived in this trailer park for nearly 30 years now, renting the lot we are on. We pay our rent every month on the exact same day, haven't missed a payment in over a decade. Every year on the first of January, we usually receive a lease renewal form with our rent notice. This year however, the old owners are in the process of selling the park to a new owner, and as a result we have not received one yet. We have been informed that the new owner plans to come negotiate new leases with all of the residents later this week. Today, the old owner came to our house, demanding that we pay our rent for this month, even though our lease agreement has ended and they are no longer going to be owners of the trailer park once the deal is finalized. She did not bring a lease renewal form and no agreement has been made as far as rent payment beyond the first. Is this legal, or is she trying to scam us out of our money? Should we pay her now for this month, or should we just wait until we've signed the new lease with the new owners? What should we do?
