My Boss Wants To Claim Me, Her Employee, As An Independent Contractor

Location: Wisconsin In mid 2025, I started working for a small nature school as an educator. Things off the bat were strange- she said she had to pay me through Venmo because it's easier for her, she told me I would be considered an independent contractor, she never did a background check for employees, never had me sign anything to be employed, never asked my social or any information like that. As soon as I found out she expected me to drive the kids in my personal car, and I started looking for another job. She had poor safety practices and wasn't properly insured herself, all she had was a really weak waiver she made the families sign. Having a bit of childcare and education experience I was really uncomfortable with this lack of professionalism and protocols, obviously. When I confronted her about these issues, she got really emotional and said she had no idea she needed all of these things and that she had "taken bad advice". I worry that her unsafe practices will cause harm to a kid, and I want to know what I can do with that, but have no idea where to start.

All of this to say, she was flying by the seat of her pants. For months after quitting, she would send me emails asking me to fill out the information for my W9. I didn't respond to any of these emails. Our last correspondence was of me donating some materials to the "nature school" and politely asking for some things she had of mine that had been dropped off to her by a former coworker upon his quitting. She claimed to have never receive them, even though he had sent me pictures of her receiving them. Not that it'll ever matter, but I have pictures of all of these exchanges.

Now comes tax time, and I want to file my taxes properly, and I can't because I don't have a W2. My best guess is to report all of the income she had sent me over Venmo for that period of employment. Can she file my employment as an independent contractor? And who can I report her business to?
