My Brother Is Off His Meds And Suicidal
My (Location: Tennessee) brother, who lives in Maine, has had a long history of health issues including depression and suicidal thoughts. On Monday after Thanksgiving he emptied out his bank accounts and flew to Seattle Washington. The police are looking for him but haven't been able to locate him; however, me and my family know that he's staying at the house of a volunteer of an organization called Sacred Passing which is actually a pretty cool organization from the looks of it- it helps terminally ill people die with some dignity. This isn't the case for my brother though, he is just off his meds- and we've been through this before although he didn't have as good a plan in previous times. That organization won't divulge where he is, and are in the process of helping him kill himself (either through Medicine but more likely VSED- where you just stop eating).
My parents (Location: Maine) have tried calling a bunch of law firms in Seattle and haven't had any luck talking to an actual attorney. My question is- do any of you have any recommendations of what to do? Specifically I'm having trouble figuring out the logistics of power of attorney vs conservatorship vs governorship and how that would work from my parents state of Maine to Washington state. Also this is somewhat urgent we only have probably a few days to figure it out.
