My Former Job Keeps Paying Me, And No One From Hr Is Responding.

Location: NYC, USA

I used to work at a big corporation, with offices all around the world. I left this company a few months ago and am still getting paid. The first paycheck included retro-pay, PTO, etc. However, the next few paychecks only include my base salary, with no taxes taken out. I called HR and was told to contact my local HR, which I did through email. No one has responded to me about this issue.

Initially, they reached out to me to come return my equipment, etc. I took awhile to respond, but I did get back to them eventually. I was never given an off-boarding interview, any forms to sign, have not been asked to return my equipment again, etc. I will be following up on my email to prove my due diligence but I don’t know what to do.

I will not be spending this money and will keep it in my savings for now.

Can they reverse this transaction without telling me? Can anyone let me know how this works in the state of New York? Will this affect my tax returns negatively for this upcoming year?
