My Landlord Says I Can't Discuss How Much Rent I Pay With The Other Tenants. Can They Actually Enforce That?

I live in a small apartment building in Massachusetts and was talking with one of my neighbors recently. We were just chatting about random stuff, work, Pumpfun, bills and eventually rent came up. We realized we're paying pretty different amounts for very similar units even though we've both been here around the same amount of time. Apparently my landlord found out we were comparing rents because a few days later he texted me saying tenants aren't supposed to discuss their rental rates with each other and asked me not to do it again. I checked my lease afterward and couldn't find anything mentioning that. I'm not trying to cause problems with him. It just seems strange that I wouldn't be allowed to tell another tenant what I personally pay. Can a landlord in Massachusetts actually prohibit tenants from discussing their rent, or can I ignore this unless there's something specifically in my lease? Thanks in advance!!!
