My Mom Who I Went No Contact With Is Now Trying To Claim My Address.

at least, that is what it is looking like. location: ohio, my mom is in MA, not sure which legal jurisdiction this would fall under.

my mom was abusive to me as a child, and continuously as an adult with financial abuse. I moved states to get away from her and an abusive ex. at this time I went no contact with both people, and have no contact with anybody in massachusetts. my mother has sent multiple letters to me, always with the words "caring isn't harassment, I'm a loving mother". undoubtedly, she is trying to protect herself if this ever goes to court. I have not reached out to her, nor given any indication that I would like to resume contact. I did not give her my address, she hired a private investigator (assumed, as she has done this before other times I have tried to leave her, but no one has my address in MA. unless she hacked into my work account, the only other option is a PI. my work would have alerted me to a new log in.) to track me down.

today, I open my mailbox to find an insurance pamphlet with my mom's name and my address on it. normally, people wouldn't think anything of having a parent's name sent to their address. but I have never associated my mom's name with this new apartment. I have also never signed anything up with her. my name and her name should be completely separate.

in the past, for some context, my mom has claimed me on taxes every year. she would always tell me to use her address as a mailing address "for safekeeping" as I moved a lot and she wanted to keep everything in one place. including all of my documentation, like passports. (Did this so I had no freedom, and had to threaten cops just to get my passport when I fled) so, unbeknownst to me until recently, she was doing this to gain access to me on her taxes. I have never received a good refund, and I never received a stimulus check, although I should have. the only reason why I wouldn't have gotten one, is if she had claimed me on her taxes as a dependent.

so with that information, and this new letter that I have received addressed to her with my address, I feel like I have a right to be concerned. I don't think that law enforcement would take this seriously, since it is one instance, but there is no reason why her name should be on anything. somebody would have had to manually put that into a system to be able to get that. my mother has never lived in ohio, and has lived in Massachusetts her entire life. there is no way, none at all, that she should be associated. It's also odd that right during tax season, she needs something with her name and my address. Seems kinda off.

I can not afford a lawyer, but I need this to stop.

what are my options? she has been harassing me, through letters, all while posing it as a loving parent just checking in and updating me on her life (and my exes life, like I care). What can I do about her claiming me in the past? I did not live with her, for many years and she claimed me every year.

trust me, the woman doesn't care about me. she only wants to use me. she was a monster.
