Need Restraining Order

I have a weird case where the cops keep saying my only option is to get a lawyer and go to court for a restraining order. I think harassment is a crime.
My ex husband is always trying to get in my car, calls the cops to get me arrested which doesn’t work but it makes them think it’s he said she said.
He was arrested for assault, has been abusive for years, I’m finally away from him and it still won’t stop. Now he’s suing me for my son’s school and the judge said we have to come back in November, he lied in court already, I have no idea how to show these judges that he’s lying. For example, he wants to send my son to this school with no curriculum (I asked, they don’t have one) so not only do I have that in writing and recording but he tells the judge “it’s not a Christian school” when the sign in front of the building says “CHRISTIAN SCHOOL”. How do you even begin to show this? I’ve had lawyers before, for whatever reason people are afraid of my ex or dumbfounded by his behavior, like that’s old news, his craziness distracts everyone and they just give in to make him go away. Any ideas?
