Overpaid By Employer For A Year

Location: Pennsylvania

Hello! I left a job in August of 2023, and as the title says, they continued to pay me as if I was working 40 hours a week for another year. This ended after I emailed them in August of 2024, where I told them that I filed a separation form, but I believed that the separation was never finalized by HR and I was still being treated as employed. In response, HR told me they had no record of the separation form being filed, so I forwarded the confirmation email sent to me. There was no response from them after this, but the payments stopped. The payments totaled roughly $30k after taxes. I also opened a retirement account with them, which I haven't touched either , that continued to be funded by contributions from that year I was paid but didn't work. I still have the money, and as for the reason I haven't reached out to them earlier or another time: I was lazy and hoped they would reach out first or take care of it themselves.

They still haven't reached out to me, but I never wanted the money; it's been causing a lot of anxiety the whole time I've had it. So, what do I do from here and what repercussions do I face? Should I just hold on to the money and ride it out? I'm now worried about owing them the gross amount they paid me, amending my taxes, and/or rolling over or refunding the money in the retirement account I opened with them.
