Paycheck Being Withheld Due To “fear Of Future Truck Payments Not Being Made”
Location: Las Vegas, Nevada
This is an addition to a post I just made regarding getting this vehicle in question out of my buddies yard.
A few months ago I began paying my old boss $100 each paycheck (every 1st and 15th) of the month to go towards a bill of $3000 for a vehicle I was using as a work truck with the company. As of recently, I found a new job and let the boss know I would continue paying towards the bill every 1st and 15th since the truck broke down a while ago and has been sitting in my buddies driveway. To this, he sent me multiple texts saying I needed to return some of his material and property and a gas card, which was done today. Now, he’s saying I need to figure out what to do with the truck before he sends me my most recent paycheck which was supposed to hit on the 1st. Please keep in mind, the truck title is still in his name and we had no contract created nor signed saying I would honor this before I could get my paycheck. He says he will contact his attorney because “I’m misinformed on the law” by saying he’s not legally allowed to keep my check from me. Any information on this helps.
Note: I did offer to have a contract printed and signed saying I would uphold his offer before I take it to small claims court.
