Pet Bunny Killed By Neighbor’s Dogs Tonight
I live in Houston with my family and tonight our neighbor’s dogs broke through our shared backyard fence, and took our pet rabbit and his absolute favorite ball too. Bunny is still laying in the neighbor’s back yard. This happened around 9pm. The neighbors briefly accepted responsibility and apologized, but are now refusing to speak to us. Police is on the way, but we are being told it may be a while before the get to us. We obviously want the fence fixed and for them to be fined or something. Can we ask for financial compensation? We will be filing a police report, just waiting on officers. They have two dogs, breeds are unknown. Bunny is bloody, but I haven’t moved him enough to see the extent of the injuries. I have homeowner’s insurance, is this something I should report to them? Someone recommended a personal injury lawyer, but I’m not sure if this is something a lawyer would take on. I’m upset and would appreciate any advice! Thanks
