Roommate Went Through My Room, Stole My Belongings And Wants To Kill My Grandfather?

Kind of a long story that requires context, please bear with me. My grandpa allowed some friends of ours (M&F couple) to stay in our spare room. We had known them for some time, they had stable employment, no red flags.

Female roommate is going through a severe psychotic break, either through meth use, unmedicated schizophrenia, or a combination of the two. It started a few days ago when she made accusations of me hacking her phone and has escalated from there.

On Christmas Day my grandpa and I went to visit a friend, when we came back my room had been turned over. She had taken many of my belongings and literally every piece of paper she could find, including my birth certificate, my immigration documents, passport, my employment authorization card and sentimental things like photographs, birthday cards, drawings etc. Both my cell phones which were in the room are also missing.

I confronted her, she said I could have my paperwork back if I "admit I'm an alien". Then she changed her mind and told me she wasn't going to give it back after all, she was going to send it to the feds as proof that I'm an alien, a hacker, and that I have rabies. After I mentioned calling the cops she said "come and get your stuff". She had all of my stuff in a duffel bag and hid it in her closet.

I went through the stuff, there's a lot of things I can't account for, including the phones and my old passport. She also had possession of my backpack, again things were missing from there, it was also full of her belongings which she called "weapons". When I questioned it, she said she was taking the backpack with her each morning to participate in the "God wars", which is apparently her fighting against aliens.

She called me later that night and apologised, I was stupid enough to think that was the end of it. But no, I'm no longer public enemy number one and being accused of hacking, but every time I leave the house for even a brief period, she straight up tells me upon my return that she's gone through my belongings again!

Yesterday she stopped me to tell me she had buried some of my stuff in the yard (wtf?), she was also wearing a necklace of mine but I didn't push that issue out of concern for my own safety. She also said something extremely concerning, "I was supposed to kill papa [my grandpa] last night". Belongings be damned, that was enough for me to take my grandpa and dogs and rent a motel room for the night.

I tried reading up on what I can do, my plan is to go back over today, assess the situation and more than likely call the police. I guess the questions I have pertaining to this situation is:

1. Is it illegal for her to have gone in my room and taken my belongings? She did give most of them back but like I said, some things are still missing, including government-issued documents (passport and my work authorization card)

2. Is what she said about "being supposed to kill my grandpa" enough for an Emergency Order of Detention? There hasn't been any physical violence at this point, and I certainly don't want it to get to that point before my concerns are taken seriously. I want her to get help but I know she won't voluntarily seek it.

3. I want to get a VPO, but I don't know if any of this will be enough to grant one. Is it even worth trying?

I'm not asking for advice in terms of evicting her, this is the route we'll be going down but this takes time and in the short-term, I need to ensure our immediate safety, which is not guaranteed with her in the house. I also cannot afford to keep paying for motels and I don't want her to continue to be unattended with my belongings in the house.

Basically any advice I can get from a legal standpoint would be very helpful, I'm at a loss with this situation and extremely overwhelmed.
