Son’s Father Filed For Emergency Custody, Committed Suicide 3 Days After I Was Served.
Location: Louisiana
My son’s father served me with emergency temporary custody (Saturday May 30th I was served) that a court granted him that he alleged I was mentally unfit to care for our child.
3 days after I was served, my sons father committed suicide. (June 2nd)
I have reached out to multiple pro bono offices, and I haven’t even had the time to go through the paperwork he served me to do my responses because he committed suicide.
I need advice on what I can do/file to the court to regain my rightful custody of my child.
His family has filed and been awarded temporary custody of my child following his father’s suicide and it’s under the same docket number of our original hearing.
I need advice on what I can file or do in these moments leading up to the hearing that best support my case and regain custody of my child.
I personally believe that he is not safe emotionally or mentally in the household with his grandparents because it was the same environment he lived in with his father, when his father decided to end his life.
