Uhaul $560 Fee, Wa, Usa

Hello. I am located in WA, USA. I was charged $560 on my credit card for Uhaul for a “wrong return location.”

One of my phone calls with Uhaul, a representative told me that I may get a fee, but that I could change my location of return in the morning, once the department of Uhaul opened that could change it. this is why I got confused and returned the Uhaul to the wrong location, thinking I could change the dropoff location at 7 am, when they opened.

i dropped off the trailer the night before, planning to call at dawn. it was a two day rental anyway, so it wasnt like i was late. that whole day was still mine to have it.

we call to change it, and low and behold, they say it is an in town trailer and cant be changed, and we’ll be charged a fee. the OG location is 45 min away.

i have no contract, have never seen one, never was emailed one. i had never heard the words “in town trailer.”

I asked them to review the calls and they did, and the manager is insisting that I wasnt told what I remember, and they wont let me see the transcripts.

is there anything I can do here? Location: WA, USA
