Virginia Contractor Submitted Ai Photos To Get Inspection Approval.

I’m in Virginia and could really use some advice on how to handle a situation with a residential installation.

The company installed a system on my house, and the county inspection initially failed because of an issue with the way part of the wiring/cable was installed. The contractor was supposed to correct the issue before the county would approve the installation.

A week later the contractor submitted photos to the county head supervisor showing that the work was completed. The inspection was then approved. (They didn't come out to the property. They just approved it by looking at the submitted pictures).

The submitted photos were 100% fake and I called the inspector and varified that with him. He was very upset (poor old guy) and said he would turn down the inspection again.

Is this worthy of suing the company?

What is the best way to document the current condition so the photographs/video can be used as evidence if necessary.

Could knowingly submitting photographs to a county inspector that falsely indicate required work was completed create legal consequences beyond a normal contractor dispute.
Is there anything I should not do right now that could hurt my position?

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I'm also afraid that they would come while I'm at work and fix the issues and claim that I lied. so I don't know exactly how to docmuent this other than taking photos.
