What Happens When Two Signed Documents Conflict Each Other?

Card image cap

Location: Oklahoma. We’re having trouble with a local car dealership. On 6/6 we ordered a vehicle. We signed a doc that lists the car, different down payment/monthly payment options, and the trade allowance and trade payoff. The trad payoff is $20k but we gave them a payoff quote for $20,437. There’s no sentences on the doc if that makes sense - it’s just numbers in a chart.

On 6/12 the car arrived and we purchased it and traded in our old vehicle. The bill of sale for the old vehicle is signed and notorized (notorized by the finance guy who sold us a warranty which also seems odd but that’s not really part of my question) but the sale price, purchase date, and lienholder info are all blank.

Then we have an “authorization to release payoff info and release title” doc that is signed and dates 6/6. In the “for dealership use only” box below the signatures the number $20,000 is type in then scratched through with the number $20,442 written in.

The dealership waited a month to pay off the trade in - when it was actually down to $20k. But we paid a payment on the vehicle after we turned it over to the dealership. The dealership says the bank will pay us back, the banks says no because the loan was at $20k and the dealership paid $20k. But we paid on a vehicle that was already given to the dealership so it seems like they owe us. But these docs are confusing.
