Will We Ever Get Justice For My Child’s School Assault?

Hi, all. Will try to summarize a two year saga here.

The main assailant groped my child’s chest and kicked her to the ground.
She blocked it out but started self harming and eventually had to leave the school. Had two suicidal attempts and several hospitalizations in two years.
Started remembering in chunks, and flashbacks but finally feels comfortable talking about it and has identified the boys. She remembers the same boys were blocking her in the hallway several times leading up to the assault.
We had to get a lawyer to place her in a therapeutic school because of her mental health and a late autism diagnosis.
We gave a police report the other week and it was validating. Now the officer is ignoring our follow up calls. I doubt the DA will prosecute, but bearing that maybe nothing will happen from here is almost too much to bear.
Would rather not have to lawyer up after paying for an educational lawyer. Not even sure someone would take our case, and all of the person injury lawyers look shady.
