Wrongfully Towed…worth To Appeal?
Location: California USA
Bear with me it’s my first time getting towed…I parked at a private property customer parking lot (approx 6PM) and returned around 9PM to see my car was towed. Called the towing company only to be accused that they saw me NOT going to the plaza but somewhere else since they got surveillance footage in the area.
I have proof I checked in at the gym within that plaza for at most two hours then a store which I have a receipt that shows the approximate time I was going back to the parking lot.
Signs in the parking lot do not have a time limit and a sign only stated: “no parking after business hours” which most stores there don‘t close til 10PM and the gym closes at 12AM.
I’m already thinking of making a civil claim and contacting the security + towing company responsible for wrongfully towing my car, but is it worth to appeal? I’m going to pick up my car from the towing company first thing in the morning. I know this will be such a hassle to appeal, so I was wondering if this is worth to go to court for.
